Workplace trends for 2023 – Outdoor spaces
Biophilia gained in popularity in 2022 and we continue to see this as a trend for 2023. More than a trend though, Biophilic design is a way of harnessing the innate relationship we have with nature and using it to promote feelings of calm, creativity and productivity within your working environment.
Outdoor spaces
Industry experts have predicted that 2023 will see an increase in the use of outdoor spaces, terraces, balconies or courtyards for a number of reasons;
- Wellbeing – opportunity to access fresh air and natural light during the working day
- Reduce Burnout – respite from computer screens and noisy offices
- Socialising and relaxing
- Alfresco meetings
Providing access to regenerative spaces in the workplace has been cited as a growing trend for this year by Work Design Magazine.
Post pandemic the importance of Mental Health and well-being within the workplace is now paramount. Health and wellbeing is now a priority for employees which is leading to a shift for employers and the working environments they provide.
Incorporating wellness design in all aspects of the workplace down to the overlooked details can reinvigorate employees as well as company culture, breathing new life back into the traditional office.
