A ballpark figure of how long preserved moss lasts is between 2 and 8 years. That’s provided the preserved moss wall has been created and installed professionally.
As you might expect, the longevity of preserved moss walls depends on various factors. If the preserved moss wall is in a high traffic area (e.g. a corridor), it may get the occasional knock which reduces its shelf life, this is why the disparity between predicted longevity is so extreme!
It’s not recommended to install preserved moss walls outdoors, we don’t recommend they get wet or are in humid areas, too close to a sunny window or near radiators or air conditioning units. They won’t last as well in these areas.
To ensure your preserved moss wall looks great for as long as possible, our team will also advise on the best location to install a preserved moss wall as part of our installation services.
If preserved moss isn’t quite the right option for your project, then we can also explore artificial green walls instead. As well as boasting zero maintenance, artificial walls can also be fire rated and UV rated.
