As a premium BTR development, Fairfax requires amenities that look immaculate, feel welcoming, and actively support resident well-being. Our challenge was to design a cohesive, biophilic experience that transitions seamlessly from the stylish internal communal spaces right up to the outdoor social areas, creating a lush sanctuary amidst the energy of the city.

Indoor Planting: Curated Elegance & Wellness

Inside the building, the focus was on clean lines, vibrant textures, and high-impact visual zoning. We utilised premium live greenery to soften the contemporary architecture and create pockets of calm for the residents.

Styled Tabletop Features

For reception counters, communal desks, and social lounge tables, we introduced compact, sophisticated species that thrive in indoor environments:

Scindapsus (Satin Pothos): Heart-shaped leaves with silver variegation that gently cascade over pot edges,.
Aglaonema (Chinese Evergreen): Provides striking, patterned foliage that brings a splash of subtle color into social spaces.
Zamioculcas (ZZ Plant): Sleek, glossy, and highly resilient-perfect for maintaining an architectural, premium look with minimal maintenance.

Integrated Joinery Troughs

To create natural, living partitions in open-plan areas, we curated a rich blend of textures for the custom joinery troughs:

Monstera (Swiss Cheese Plant): Injects a dramatic, tropical aesthetic with its iconic leaves.
Asplenium (Bird’s Nest Fern): Introduces a bright, wavy, apple-green texture to contrast against darker elements.
Aspidistra (Cast Iron Plant) & Aglaonema: Chosen for their exceptional shade tolerance and structural fullness, ensuring a dense, green base.
Chlorophytum (Spider Plant): Adds playful, arching, variegated ribbons that break up the crisp lines of the joinery.

Exterior Planting: The Residents’ Rooftop Terrace & Beyond

Moving outside, the planting scheme shifts to robust, year-round structural impact, perfectly showcased on Fairfax’s incredible residents’ rooftop terrace.

Our team designed a palette capable of handling changing seasonal conditions while offering a vibrant, premium backdrop for residents relaxing or socialising outdoors:

Architectural Statements: Bold Cordyline and large, glossy Fatsia leaves create immediate drama and a premium, tropical silhouette.
Year-Round Structure: Ilex (Holly) and Euonymus provide reliable evergreen framing, with variegated foliage lifting the outdoor borders.
Texture & Softness: Low-growing Festuca grass adds a tactile, modern touch to the hard landscaping, complemented by cascading Hedera (Ivy) draping elegantly over edges.
Seasonal Color: Skimmia brings compact winter structure with delicate buds and berries, while Salvia injects vibrant, pollinator-friendly blooms during the warmer months.
