We worked with the designers at Oktra to add a biophilic layer to the new offices of Facepunch Studios in Birmingham,.
The original floorplans indicated this would be an extremely dynamic workspace with various areas devoted to working, gaming and socialising. The addition of planting helped to define these areas and punctuate the flow of the office. The bespoke joinery for the seating areas provided an excellent opportunity to showcase high-impact replica planting, including elegant Kentia Palms and Ficus Lyratas, realistically underplanted with Ficus Liana, Bamboo, Aglaonema and different varieties of grasses.
Elsewhere, we installed trailing planting to soften industrial features and selected statement plants and planters to support the office’s aesthetic.
Wellbeing was also very important to Facepunch so Oktra created a separate refuge space to take respite from the busy work area. The mood is different here, with a softer palette of colours, maximum natural light and more greenery and planting.
